In this zine, phone snapshots of hands in a cosmetic store and Japanese shop signage are juxtaposed on each spread.
The contrast created between the two seemingly unrelated subjects; the shoppers' hands representing the overly accelerated Western consumerist society and the cheesy sales slogan on the old shop signage - the meanings of which are written as captions on each page; expresses my critical view on the conteporary society.

サイン

このジンでは、左側に日本の昔ながらの看板、右側に西洋の消費社会ど真ん中で夢中になる女性たちの手でペアを組ませた。一見関連性のない２枚の写真が、日本語の看板(サイン)の英訳を右側に記入したことで、全く別世界の「手」たちにタイトルのような新しい意味合いを与え「手のサイン」を作り出した。昔ながらの看板も、消費に夢中になる手も、全く不本意ながらにこのジン上で対比させられることで現代社会を物語っている。
